Continuous medical education held for first time at the Memorial House of the founder of the Pasteur Institute Dr. Adolf Hempt

In the goal of educational activities which serve to maintain, develop, or increase the knowledge, skills, and professional performance of medical doctors, medical technicians, nurses, doctors of veterinary medicine, and vet technicians a series of lectures was held by the Pasteur Institute’s medical team.

The present colleagues and colleagues had the opportunity to listen to lectures in the authentic ambience of an area of extremely high cultural and historical significance.

The participants were welcomed in the Memorial House of the founder of the Pasteur Institute – Dr Adolf Hempt by the director of the Pasteur Institute Dušan Lalošević MD PhD, after which the first lecture was held by Head of the Department for Monitoring and Exploration of Rabies and other zoonoses, Nenad Vranješ MD on the topic of Rabies prophylaxis in Serbia. After a brief coffee break, Head of the Department for Microbiological and Other Diagnostics, Srđan Stankov MD introduced the participants to the techniques of the diagnosis of rabies and the specifics that it implies in order to understand the need for adequate handling of material sent as suspected to the rabies.

The final lecture on the topic of other zoonoses transmitted by dogs, cats and wild canines was held by Dušan Lalošević MD PhD, followed by a discussion between the participants and the lecturers who concluded and stated that Paster’s Institute, with its team of experts, is always there for its colleagues and ready for cooperation in order to achieve the best possible health care of the population of the Republic of Serbia.
